Bridge - 2005
BRIDGE is an exploration of the Golden Gate Bridge from the perspective of a daydreaming passenger. The viewer as passenger watches three combined views of the bridge's railing, the people walking along the bridge, and the landforms beyond the bridge change.
By using composite imagery, and a carefully crafted sound scape, Bradbury is able to encompass the essence of the Golden Gate Bridge beyond what it is immediately tangible in the 'real' experience.
In BRIDGE, digital video as a medium is exploited to create a captivating experience where the audience is continually challenged to reconsider how they see the world. The audio informs this introspection of the audience by introducing a strong audio experience, which alludes to a narrative within the barrage of imagery. When the conclusion of these motifs comes in the video's final moments, the viewer has become so accustom to the experience, they are not yet ready to let go. |
